Paul McCartney to rock Halifax Icelandair destination

Monday, June 15th, 2009

247448_1_previewPaul McCartney is all set for a lavish open-air show on 11th July in Halifax in Canada’s Nova Scotia province.

Paul McCartney’s performance is to take place in Canada’s oldest urban park, Halifax Common, which has become an increasingly popular concert venue over recent years.

Coinciding with the Tall Ships Nova Scotia Festival 2009, Paul McCartney’s July Halifax gig is to be his only Canadian show this year.

It is hoped around 60,000 people will turn out for the former Beatle, according to promoter Harold MacKay in interview with the Halifax Chronicle Herald.

Icelandair serves Halifax with direct flights to Iceland and on to mainland Europe. Icelandair specialises in connecting Europe and North America through its hub in Iceland. Travel to Halifax with Icelandair is easy and convenient from over a dozen large European cities, including Manchester, London, Paris, Berlin and Rome.

“The Canadian audiences are great and the timing of the event, with the arrival of the Tall Ships, means that it will be an exciting event for us all,” McCartney said. “We are looking forward to rocking Halifax,” the Beatles star said, appearing to be looking forward to the gig as much as anyone.
